Congregations hosting joint Advent services

The third in a series of midweek Advent services will be Wednesday at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 11547 Farm-to-Market Road 622, in Schroeder.
The midweek Advent services titled "The Gifts of Advent" are sponsored jointly by St. Luke's, St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Ander, and Zion Lutheran Church in Arneckeville.
Supper will be available beginning at 6:30 p.m., with the service at 7:30 p.m. Members of the community are invited to attend.
The offering received at the Advent services will be divided equally between the World Hunger Appeal of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent.
The gift to the food bank will be designated for use by CAMEL House in Cuero, the Goliad Outreach Food Pantry and the food pantry of Fannin United Methodist Church. The Greater Victoria Chapter of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans is providing a $1,500 matching grant for the offering received at the three services.
