Two tractor-trailer rigs collided about noon Tuesday near the intersection of Farm-to-Market roads 682 and 1447 south of Yoakum.

One of the tractor-trailers containing hazardous material rolled over, spilling its contents into the roadway.

The roads remained closed for cleanup about a half-mile from the accident in all directions until about 8:30 p.m., an official with the DeWitt County Sheriff's Office said.

Department of Public Safety Trooper Dustin Slovacek, of the Cuero office, was assigned to investigate the wreck. DPS spokesman Trooper Gerald Bryant said Slovacek was not immediately available Tuesday.

Any report of injuries that occurred and the type of material that was spilled were not available late Tuesday.
