"And she brought forth her first born Son and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes and laid Him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn."
- Luke 2:7
I have asked my friends and family what they want for Christmas this year.
Some of them say a nice, warm flannel nightgown or a flashlight. My best fishing friend wants a very special gift this year.
My best fishing friend wants a fishing trip, so I told her that I would watch the weather, and I would pick out the best day and go fishing.
I am so excited to plan this fishing trip. In between wrapping Christmas gifts, I'm getting together all of my best fishing tackle, cast net, ice chests, bait buckets, dip nets, lawn chairs and planning on what kind of food to take along for a picnic at the beach.
I am hoping for just one of those perfect fishing trips. One in which there are no backlashes, no catfish caught, no hang ups, never losing any tackle, not too much wind, just perfect temperatures from 72 to 75 degrees, perfect bait and, of course - the perfect catch.
Dear Lord, Thank You for letting my granddaughter, Dyanne, who teaches in the International School in South Korea, fly in safely to be with me for Christmas. At Christmas, let us have a perfect fishing trip. Let Your tides be high and Your seas be calm. Also, Lord, during our gift giving and receiving, let us make some more meaningful and magnificent memories to add to our memory banks. Especially, thank You for Your perfect gift that You gave us, baby Jesus.
