Port Lavaca teenagers remain in critical condition

Two teenagers injured in a fatal wreck Thursday remained in critical condition Monday.

Brooke Llorance, 19, of Port Lavaca, was flown to University Hospital in San Antonio after the wreck. According to a hospital spokesman she remained in critical condition.

Tearsten Casanova, 18, of Port Lavaca, was taken to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital in Corpus Christi. A hospital spokeswoman said she also remained in critical condition.

Sean Herrera, 17, of Port Lavaca, was originally transported to Citizens Medical Center and later flown to University Hospital in San Antonio; he was released Monday afternoon.

The teenagers were passengers in a Mazda M3i, which was making a left-turn onto U.S. Highway 87, when a Ford F-250 crashed into the driver's side of the car.

The driver, 18-year-old John Patrick Torres Jr., died at the scene.

No one in the Ford pickup driven by Richard Ward, 37, of Port Lavaca, was reported injured.
