Saturday

The 31st Equipping the Saints Conference begins at 8:30 a.m. at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 400 N. Esplanade St., in Cuero, across from McDonalds. Packets containing registration forms, descriptions of workshops offered, workshop leaders and information about the catered luncheon and child care are available from ELCA Lutheran Churches in your community. Facilities are handicap accessible, and early registration is requested. Registration for the event begins at 8:30 a.m. on the day of the event with an opening worship service at 9:30 a.m. The theme for this year's event is "Doing Ministry in Church and Community." While the event is sponsored by Lutheran congregations, it is open to people of all denominations. Speakers include: The Rev. Dr. Norm Beck, Dave Sather, Kelly Drastata, Leo Shannon, the Rev. Sharon Wiggins, the Rev. Charles A. Fredrickson, Sharon Jaks, the Rev. Dr. Elaine Gomulka, Evan Moilan, the Rev. Dr. Anamae Storbeck, Dolores Tucker and Alice Summers, Anthony Netardus, Janice Pfeffer, the Rev. Susan Briner and the Rev. Herb Beyer. Sunday

Beth Dana, ministerial intern with the First Unitarian Universalist Church, of San Antonio, will speak at the Victoria Unitarian Universalist Church from 10 a.m. to noon. Dana will deliver a sermon "What We Trust." Doris Schlenker will be lay leader for the service.



Wednesday-Friday

Palestine Missionary Baptist Church, 608 E. Convent St., will host a three night revival with the Rev. C.L. Wallace, pastor of Mother Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Wharton. Service begins at 7 p.m.. The Rev. Gregory O. Wyatt is the host pastor. For more information, call 361-573-6173.



Thursday

Holy Family Catholic Church Altar Society will have a Games Party from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Holy Family Activity Center, 704 Mallette Drive. Admission is $7 per person. Activities include door prizes, food, raffle, silent auction and games. Feb. 10

St. Mary's Annual Parish Festival will begin at 11 a.m. at the Victoria Community Center, 2905 E. North St. A roast beef meal will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for $8 a plate. Plates to-go are available at 10:30, use the Ben Wilson Street entrance. A live auction begin at 12:30 p.m. Raffle tickets are on sale $5 each or five for $20.



Feb. 16

Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1206 S. Depot St., will celebrate its Church Anniversary and Homecoming at a 3:30 p.m. service. The guest minister will be the Rev. Wilford Garrett,

of Zion Christian Center, of Houston. The Rev. A. L. Prince is the host pastor.

Women of Faith fundraising luncheon and conference will begin at 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church Parish Hall in Cuero. The beneficiary of the fundraiser is Teen Challenge of Texas. Tickets for the event are $15 each and may be purchase at participating churches and Farmers Insurance Office, 603 E. Broadway St., Cuero. For more information, call 361-275-5801.

Lenten Vespers will be at in the Incarnate Word Chapel from 5 to 5:45 p.m.

Feb. 25

John Wesley United Methodist Church, 8300 N.E. Zac Lentz Parkway, will have a Spring Games Party from 6 to 9 p.m. Admission is $7 per person. There will be chili and a salad bar. Feb. 28

Taize Prayer Service will be from 7 to 8 p.m. in the Amour Meus Prayer room at Incarnate Word Convent. Taize prayer consists of music, song, chant, scriptural readings meditation and prayers of praise and intercession. For more information, call 361-575-7111.
