The Advocate wants to correct promptly any error in fact or clarify any misleading information we publish. To report any error or need for clarification, please call 361-574-1222.•  The Red Cross does not give out cash to fire victims. Incorrect information was printed in a story on Page A1 on Monday. The Red Cross gives out a "client assistance card," which is loaded with funds the victims may use for clothing and shoes, food and shelter if needed, said Linda May, the emergency services director of the American Red Cross Crossroads/Victoria Chapter.

• To make donations in general - not to a specific fire victim - to the Red Cross, call 361-573-2671 or mail the donation to 2805 N. Navarro St., Suite 500.

• Liability insurance coverage does not cover the vehicle and medical expenses for the party at fault. The information was unclear in a story on Page A1 on Sunday. In the same story, Victoria insurance agent Bruce Woods was misquoted. The quote should have read: "Every line item of coverage has a limit, and the more you want the insurance company to cover, the more it is going to cost you."
