The destinations will vary, but the purpose is the same.

Athletes from around the area will sign letters-of-intent Wednesday, assuring themselves the opportunity to play football on the collegiate level.

Three players will get the opportunity to play on the Division I level.

El Campo's Cole Hunt and Trey Martin will sign with Rice and Weimar's Ja'Braylin Thomas will make his commitment to Houston official on National Signing Day.

Hunt is expected to play tight end and Martin will likely play center for the Owls. Thomas will continue to play on the offensive line for the Cougars.

Kingsville will be a popular destination in the area. Victoria West's Jake Wallace, Cuero's Caleb Harvey and Hudson Haas, and Refugio's Draigon Silvas will sign with Texas A&M-Kingsville.

Wallace and Haas are expected to play on the offensive line for the Javelinas, Harvey on the defensive line and Silvas at running back.

Silvas is likely to be playing against Refugio teammate and fellow running back Malcolm Franklin, who will sign with West Texas A&M.

Cuero quarterback Blake Reeve will sign with Henderson State in Arkadelphia, Ark.

Refugio coach Jason Herring said wide receiver Marcus Thompson will sign with Blinn College in Brenham. Thompson had previously committed to Texas A&M-Kingsville.
