With a desire to continue his work in public education, a school board trustee has reserved his slot on the ballot.
Victoria school board Trustee Michael DiSanto, who represents Super District 7, filed for re-election Thursday.
"I just want to continue to help the district earn better ratings," DiSanto said. "I want to support the new superintendent in the direction we have to take the district."
In his time in office, DiSanto has attended workshops headed by the Texas Association of School Boards and joined other school board members in advocating for improving the high schools' state academic rating.
"There's been some investment by the district in me," DiSanto said. "And we're working to continue to make use of it."
VISD trustees Pastor Kevin VanHook and attorney Bernard Klimist also have filed for re-election.
