Three congregations will host joint Lenten service

A joint Lenten supper and service will be Feb. 20 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 1545 E. Farm-to-Market Road 1961, in Ander. The Lenten service series is sponsored jointly by St. Peter's, St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Schroeder and Zion Lutheran Church in Arneckeville.
Supper will be served at 6:30 p.m. The service begins at 7:30 p.m.
Members of the community are invited to attend.
The theme of this year's Lenten service series is "Beneath the Cross of Jesus." Based on the hymn "Beneath the cross of Jesus," this series explores what it means to abide at the foot of the cross, to cling to the rock of humankind's salvation, to dwell in the house of the Lord and to confess sins and receive God's forgiveness.
Other Wednesday evening Lenten suppers and services will Feb. 27, March 6, March 13 and March 20.
Holy Week services are scheduled for March 28 and March 29.
