In John 18:37-38, a Roman official named Pilot asked Jesus a question, "What is truth?"

We know from the Bible, in the book of Genesis, that God created the universe.

God created laws or functions for everything. Natural created laws are truths we have on the earth. Also, we know that the entire word of God from the Bible gives to us, spiritual laws that are spiritual truths to live by.

What Pilot did not understand was this, Jesus himself is the essence of all truth. Jesus Christ is the divine reality or truth, embodied, revealed and the expression of what truth is.

The reality of truth concerning God, the universe, man's relationship with God and with his fellowman and with himself is truth revealed to us in creation and the Bible.

You can find this truth in Romans 1-2 and Colossians 1-2. I believe truth is who God is, and we see truth expressed in attributes of genuineness, sincerity, honesty, trustworthiness, faithfulness.

When you try to look for truth in a selfish, evil world, what you find is falsehood, deception, lies hypocrisy, error, dissimulation and a lot of misinformation and this brings in confusion. We must go to God's word to get truth about all that pertains to life.

The kingdom of darkness tried to kill, bury and do away with truth (Jesus). But God resurrected the truth and the truth lived to bury the pallbearers that tried to put truth away in a tomb.

II Thessalonians 2:10 says this, "And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish, because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved." When nations, governments people reject the truth they have no hope and continue to believe and live a lie.

Jesus said in John 8:32, "And you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free." Truth is who we need to know in the saving resurrected power of the Lord Jesus Christ.

I believe the decline of our nation, our government, our churches and our families comes from rejecting God's truth.

"God's people are to be the salt and the light of God's truth in this deceptive world we live in," Matthew 5:13-14.

"We can never compromise God's word and be blessed. We must proclaim, God's truth by the power of God's Holy Spirit to this entire world," Matthew 28:18-20. Living in God's truth is proof we love God. Reach out and receive the truth.
