The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program is a partnership with area and regional agencies and businesses whose volunteer members are IRS trained to help people who couldn't otherwise prepare basic tax returns.
The program is free and will run through April 13.
Volunteers are available from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays in the Victoria Continuing Education Center in the 1200 block of Ben Jordan Street, between Loma Vista and Red River Street.
Participants must earn less than $51,270 and bring a valid Social Security or ITIN card for all family members, a valid picture identification and all W2s and 1099s (if appropriate).
