Goliad man sentenced to 20 years in prison

A convicted felon who drove up to a police stop holding a loaded pistol was sentenced to 20 years in prison by District Judge Skipper Koetter on Wednesday.
Miguel Aguirre, 54, was convicted of being a felon in possession of a firearm and received the maximum sentence, according to a news release from Goliad County District Attorney's office.
In 2004, Aguirre was sentenced to five years in prison for aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.
