Laureate Alpha Omicron holds meeting

Laureate Alpha Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met recently in the home of Dorothy Koenig. Frances Smith presided. Ruthe Bone and Delores Kaspar served as co-hostesses. Committee reports were given. Donations to Christ's Kitchen and VCAM have been made. Marcy Turk, ways and means chairman, reminded members to gather and price items for the garage sale which is set for March 22 and 23 at the Locher home.
The group was asked to bring rice, beans, ramen noodles, etc. for VCAM to the next meeting Feb. 19 at the home of Joann Locher. The Sweetheart Brunch to honor Marcy Turk will also be held there on Feb. 16. A ballot with day trip suggestions was circulated which were voted on.
Secret sister gifts were delivered.
Betty Mercer presented the program on Friends. She talked about good, close friends she had made in her many moves from town to town in her childhood and later on after marriage.
Twenty-one members and guests attended the Sweetheart Dinner held recently at Sky Restaurant. Marcy Turk, escorted by her husband Wayne, was introduced, and her history in Beta Sigma Phi was recited.
