Editor, the Advocate:
The Department of Homeland Security was created by the Bush administration in response to the 9-11 terrorist attacks by radical Islamic fundamentalists. It has morphed into the domestic surveillance arm of the United States government.
Big Sis has decided that the government needs drones flying over our cities for public safety. "The Department of Homeland Security plans to spend up to $50 million on a spy system that has been used to hunt insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan for the purposes of 'emergency and nonemergency incidents' within the United States." (Paul Joseph Watson, Infowars.com, Feb. 9, 2012) Emergency and nonemergency incidents - doesn't that pretty much cover all incidents?
DHS bought 450 million rounds of hollow-point ammunition and then decided it needed 750 million more. One can only imagine for whom they are intended. DHS is not part of the military; they are a domestic agency. "To provide some perspective, experts estimate that at the peak of the Iraq war, American troops were firing around 5.5 million rounds per month. At that rate, DHS is armed now for a 24-year Iraq war." (Investors.com)
Homeland Security was set up as a response to the 9-11 terrorist attacks. Now, our government is arming the Muslim Brotherhood - M1A1 tanks and F-16 strike fighters to Egypt - and threatening American citizens.
Remember, Obama said before he was elected to his first term that he is dedicated to fundamentally changing America. This he is doing.
Tragically, I do not believe he can be stopped.
