Riders take your mark. It's time to register for the fifth annual Victoria Kiwanis Club Riverside Ride.
The March 23 event features a choice of four routes of varying lengths and raises money for a worthy cause.
"It's the time of the year to shake off the winter doldrums by getting outside and experiencing the glory of spring," said Ben Galvan, president of the Kiwanis Club of Victoria.
"The weather is splendid. The wildflowers should be glorious, and the bike routes provide the opportunities to see all of nature that you would miss in a car.
"But what makes our bike ride even better is the fact that each rider is helping the Kiwanis Club of Victoria meet our goal of helping children."
This year, the area Kiwanis Club has joined Kiwanis International in partnering with the United Nations Children's Fund on Project Eliminate.
The project goal is to purchase and distribute immunizations to prevent infant tetanus in third-world countries.
Ride registration is $30 for adults and $20 for children through March 20. On-site registration is available from 5 to 7 p.m. March 22 and from 6 to 8 a.m. on the day of the event.
Registration includes a pre-ride pancake breakfast and lunch after the ride.
