Donate a book and help improve a life.

That's the idea behind the Book Drive for Project New Start hosted by the Victoria College Bookstore.

The project runs through March 18.

Books can be dropped off at the bookstore from 8:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:15 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Friday.

The VC Bookstore is collecting paperback books for Project New Start's reading library.

Victoria County Jail inmates have an opportunity to further their education and earn a GED certificate through Project New Start.

Book donations can be any genre, fiction or nonfiction. Donated books must be paperback only.

"The jail has a classroom with a library where inmates can select books," said Carol Walters, VC Bookstore assistant manager. "This helps increase their enjoyment of books and could open another window into the possibilities of what life has to offer."
