Victoria natives inducted into honor society

Dean A. Vanek and Kolton Daniel Kilgore were inducted into the Alpha Phi Lambda Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Blinn College in February.

Vanek, from Victoria, majoring in nursing, is the son of Dennis and Donna Vanek, of Victoria.

Kilgore, from Victoria, majoring in business, is the son of Daniel and Sheila Kilgore, of Victoria.

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, headquartered in Jackson, Miss., is the largest honor society in American higher education with 1,280 chapters on college campuses in all 50 states of the U.S., Canada, Germany, the Republic of Palau, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the British Virgin Islands, the United Arab Emirates, U.S. territorial possessions and Peru.

More than 2.5 million students have been inducted since its founding in 1918, with approximately 135,000 students inducted annually.
