Yorktown FFA Stock Show auction raises more than $124,000

The 2013 Yorktown FFA Stock Show topped last year's auction by more than $9,000.
This year's sale raised $124,346, up from $115,240 last year, according to show records.
Doss Torrez showed the grand champion steer, which sold for $8,800. Buyers were Steven and Debbie Kneese, Jerry and Mary Steves, Paula Dromgoole, Top Dog Buyers Group and Yorktown Western Days.
Doss also showed the reserve champion lamb. It sold for $3,949 to Yorktown Western Days.
Shelby Franke showed the grand champion hog, which sold for $6,600 to Bianchi Boone, Karnes County Livestock, Top Dog Buyers Group and Yorktown Western Days.
Kynli Hranicky showed the grand champion lamb. It sold for $4,800 to Citizens Bank, Top Dog Buyers Group, Tommy's Ag Service, South Texas AC, Guadalupe Valley Electric Cooperative, Victoria Professional Firefighters Association, Trust Texas Bank and Yorktown Western Day.
Cailtin Seifert showed the reserve champion steer. It sold for $6,299 to Seifert Family Ranches, Top Dog Buyers Group and Yorktown Western Days.
Maddie Bryand showed the reserve champion hog. It sold for $4,600 to Yorktown Western Days and Top Dog Buyers Group.
