The annual Shiner Future Farmers of America Livestock Show kicks off Friday at the show barn in Green-Dickson Municipal Park.
The number of entries for this year's show are about the same as last year, said Bruce Pohler, Shiner ag teacher and FFA faculty sponsor.
Fourteen steers are entered in the show, as well as 17 lambs, 31 hogs and five pens of chickens.
Animal weigh-ins begin at 7 a.m. with judging starting at 9 a.m. Broilers will be judged first followed by hogs, lambs and steers.
The day concludes with the animal auction at 7:30 p.m.
A barbecue chicken meal sponsored by the Shiner Young Farmers Chapter will be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 to 6 p.m. Tickets are $7.
