The Cuero Police Department is investigating a Saturday morning drive-by shooting in the 600 block of West Morgan Street.

The drive-by shooting, which happened about 4:30 a.m. Saturday, looks to be random, but police are still looking into several leads, said Cuero Police Chief Jay Lewis.

No one was injured.

The person who reported the shooting did not have a description of the vehicle or its passengers, Lewis said.

"The resident was watching television when the shots rang out," Lewis said. "When he felt safe, he looked out but couldn't see anyone around."

Police found bullet casings in the neighborhood, but Lewis would not disclose the type of gun.

Whether the shooting was targeted at someone in the neighborhood is also unknown, Lewis said, but officers hope to know more as the week progresses.

"It's difficult to pinpoint right now," he said Monday afternoon.

Anyone with information on the shooting can call the Cuero Police Department at 361-277-3552.
