Special education parent workshops at Victoria Public Library

Two special education parent workshops will be presented by Partners Resource Network - TEAM Project at the Victoria Public Library.
Partners Resource Network is a parent training and information center funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education - Office of Special Education Programs.
The Contents of the Individualized Education Program workshop is designed to provide parents with practical working knowledge of an Individualized Education Program as defined by Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
Participants will learn to set reasonable, measurable learning goals for a child with a disability.
The Assertiveness workshop is designed to teach parents to communicate opinions, thoughts, needs and feelings in a direct, honest and appropriate manner, in order to secure a free appropriate public education for their children.
Participants can attend one or both sessions.

Individual Support Service is available for parents to discuss specific questions or concerns about their child's special education services.
