1. What made you decide to serve the district? Why do you serve now?
I was asked by community members to serve on the board of trustees in 2002 after the existing board had voted to consolidate the two 5A high schools to one. Myself and others believed that the leadership of VISD needed improvement. I feel that the district has seen much improvement in these and many other areas. I continue to work for those ideals.
2. What is your most memorable time as a board member? Why was it so memorable?
My most memorable has been the efforts by our board, superintendent Bob Moore, administration and stakeholders to bring our community closer together, not only to support the bond for new schools and facilities but to embrace a new era of communication. Accomplishments such as these are now recognized across the state. I look forward to the leadership of superintendent Robert Jaklich to take our district to new heights.
