Men arrested Saturday at Riverside Park identified

Robert Rodriguez, 28, of Victoria, was arrested Saturday night on a charge of unlawfully carrying a weapon following a report of shots fired near a children's play area in Riverside Park.

A 16-year-old boy in the car with Rodriguez also faces the same charge. A third man, Pedro Arevalo, 35, of Victoria, was charged with public intoxication, according to a news release from the Victoria Police Department.

The three were arrested about 7 p.m.

A 9 mm handgun, which matched the shell casings found at the scene, was recovered from the late model Buick the men were in, police Sgt. Kelly Luther said.

The adults were taken to the Victoria County Jail, and the juvenile was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center, according to the news release.
