David Faskas, a portfolio accountant with KMH Wealth Management, LLC, an affiliate of Keller and Associates, CPAs, passed the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination (Series 65) to become a licensed investment adviser representative for the firm.
Kim Beckham, of Victoria, co-presented a seminar on social networking at the annual national meeting of LTC Financial Partners. Beckham has been involved in long-term care planning for more than 13 years, and she was one of 28 agents from Texas honored in 2012 as a Top Professional in long-term care insurance by the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance.
The designation of certified insurance service representative has been conferred upon Shelia Mansios, account manager, personal lines, of Easley Insurance in Victoria after she successfully completed five one-day courses covering all areas of insurance risks and exposures, followed by extensive examinations.
Senior Helpers employees Benita Castillo, Mary Rodriguez and Kari Gusman have obtained their certifications as Alzheimer's and dementia care specialists. To obtain their certifications, these employees completed the Senior Gems Approach, a training program developed by Senior Helpers in partnership with Teepa Snow, a nationally recognized expert in Alzheimer's and dementia care.
Ovie Curtis, a certified nurse's aide at Retama Manor, was named Texas Health Care Association's region 10 "Nurse's Aide of the Year" on Nov. 7. She was nominated by administration, residents and family members from Retama for this honor. Curtis has been a CNA for 25 years and has been at Retama for four years.
Gulf Bend Center has received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada. GBC received the award for its comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year ending Aug. 31, 2011. The award recognizes Barbara Reese, the center's director of financial services, as the person principally responsible for preparing the report. This is the 14th consecutive year Gulf Bend has received this award.
