Department of Public Safety troopers arrested a man on Texas' 10 most-wanted criminal list in El Campo on Friday.

A tipster led the troopers to an El Campo home where they found Robert Allen Kotlar, also known as Paul Wayne Conners or Murdock, according to a news release.

Kotlar, 54, of Houston, was wanted for a parole violation in a burglary of a habitation case.

Kotlar has an extensive criminal history, including charges of assault, larceny, theft of property, vehicle theft, forgery, possession of marijuana, resisting an officer and failure to identify as a fugitive or intent to give false information, according to the news release.

Troopers rewarded the tipster with $7,500.

So far in 2013, DPS and other agencies arrested 22 of Texas' most wanted fugitives and sex offenders, including eight gang members.

They've also paid $54,500 in rewards. The Governor's Criminal Justice Division funds the rewards.
