Thanks to Nixon officer who helped at night

Editor, the Advocate:

We want to publicly acknowledge our thanks to Officer Hernandez of the Nixon Police Department. He came to our rescue and probably saved us from a tragic accident. On Friday night, July 5, six of us were driving together on U.S. Highway 87 in two cars back to San Antonio after visiting with friends in Victoria.

As we left a gas station in Cuero, two women began tailgaiting both cars and trying to run us off the road. Officer Hernandez responded to our 911 call as we drove into Nixon and took care of the problem. We are ever so grateful to Officer Hernandez for his quick response, courtesy and assistance when we were truly afraid for our lives.
