Editor, the Advocate:

This is addressed to all animal lovers.

Do you love animals as I do? Would you be able to spare four hours a week to help our furry friends? The Calhoun County Humane Society is in dire need of volunteers to work with the care of these defenseless animals.

The Calhoun County Humane Society is striving to find loving, suitable homes for all of the animals it has been able to rescue. However, these animals require attention and care seven days a week. While all of our volunteers are very dedicated, some of them have to work a number of days each week to provide this service. This eventually causes fatigue and burnout.

Volunteering for a noble cause is very self-satisfying and a great contribution to our community. If you are retired or just have time on your hands, please consider helping this 501(c)(3) organization. Your support and donations are always appreciated and are tax deductible. Take time and visit our website,, for more information.

Thanks to all of you for your consideration. We will look forward to your favorable response.
