The Victoria Country Club is hosting a "Brews for Boots" fundraising dinner Thursday benefiting the Boot Campaign that assists military veterans.
Executive chef James Canter will prepare a gourmet seven-course dinner paired with Shiner Light Blonde, Premium, Ruby Redbird, Hefeweizen, Bock, Bohemian Black Lager and Wild Hare Pale Ale.
Brews for Boots will also feature a silent auction of Shiner beer signs and collectibles along with Boot Campaign items and merchandise.
The Boot Campaign, a grassroots initiative started by five women from Texas known as the Boot Girls, provides a way for Americans to show appreciation for U.S. troops (both past and present) and cultivate awareness of the challenges they face upon their return home.
It also raises money granted to military programs meeting these physical and emotional needs.
Spoetzl brewmaster Jimmy Mauric will be in attendance along with Meghan McDermott, communications director for the Boot Campaign.
In 2011, the Boot Girls made a campaign appearance at the Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner.
