Sunday quinceanera expo will showcase trends of cultural celebration

July 24, 2013 at 2:24 a.m.

The Quince Girl Expo is coming back to Victoria on Sunday at the Victoria Community Center, said event organizer Annette Franco.

The event was in Port Lavaca in 2012, Franco said, but she is bringing it back to Victoria to try to get a better turnout.

In the past, she said the event had between 200-400 attendees, but she hopes to draw a larger crowd this time around.

In addition to vendors for dresses, hair, makeup, catering and music and decorations, there will also be a raffle at 4 p.m., giving away all the necessities for a quinceanera for one girl.

To enter, attendees need to bring school supplies, which will be donated to the Victoria school district.

Tickets are $7 at the door or can be purchased for $6 pre-sale at Life's Celebrations gift shop or Sophia's Floral.
