A homeless man was arrested by police officers Thursday after a public disturbance call.
Simon Cisneros Jr., 50, was said to be blocking a sidewalk in downtown Victoria and appeared to be intoxicated, Lt. Ralph Buentello said.
Cisneros attempted to resist arrest and was later apprehended by officers and transported to Citizens Medical Center for a medical evaluation, said Buentello.
Cisneros was never admitted to the hospital because he left the emergency room, a representative for Citizens Medical Center said.
Cisneros was booked into the county jail Friday on evading arrest/detention and resisting arrest, search and transport charges. Police said they were seeking mental health services for Cisneros.
