Generals roll past Pump Jacks

KILGORE - Romeo Cortina hit a two-run home run in Victoria's four-run fifth inning, and the Generals went on to a 12-5 win over the East Texas Pump Jacks on Friday night at Driller Park.
Jacob Hubert added a three-run double in a six-run seventh inning as the Generals split the two-game series and improved to 6-2 on coach Stephen Flora's birthday.
Hubert, Cortina and Brett Hoffman each had two hits for the Generals, who had 11 hits against four East Texas (4-3) pitchers.
Brandon Hannon led of the game with a triple and scored on Hubert's sacrifice fly. St. Joseph graduate Hayden Vesely added a RBI double in the fifth.
Toller Boardman was the starting pitcher for the Generals and picked up his second win of the season.
Boardman yielded only one run and three hits in six innings, while striking out eight.
The Generals return to Riverside Stadium to open a two-game series against the Woodlands Strykers on Saturday at 7 p.m.
