Irish flair at Beef 'O' Brady's suits The Midday Mafia

Editor's note: The Midday Mafia is made up of five locals who wish to remain anonymous at the moment. Names have been changed to protect the guilty and are as follows: The Don, Two Taps, Walnuts, Jack the Knife and Jimmy Three Cheese. The Midday Mafia will run every other Thursday in Get Out.

The boys rarely grace new establishments due to the inconsistency of their product. It's not fair to be disappointed and have to write about it.

We made an exception and strolled into the new Beef 'O' Brady's last week and were pleasantly surprised. Big on atmosphere, B'O'B's has televisions everywhere you look and lots of sports memorabilia on the walls. This site is part sports bar, part Irish pub and part fun food restaurant.

The Midday Mafia is in the business of evaluating the overall product, and this place is sensory overload in a good way. There is an entire wall full of draft beers and a large, completely stocked bar for evening patrons.

The menu is very busy with lots of offerings, so we spread out and tried a little of everything. Walnuts had a chicken wrap that he said was perfect. Large and fairly dietary, the wrap left him stuffed and pleased. Jimmy Three Cheese ordered the turkey and bacon sandwich on a bun and was mesmerized by how much it matched the picture on the menu.

Two Taps had a buffalo chicken sandwich and was pleased with its quality, flavor and temperature. I had the fish and chips and was very satisfied. The crisp, large cod filets with curly fries were served with the sauces that make them great.

As expected, Jack the Knife had a hamburger and said it was gourmet. That's high praise from a real burger aficionado.

The boys took away nothing but positives from our Irish experience. The one comment of concern was how loud the establishment happens to be. We all agreed that we are just getting old and that a sports bar is going to be loud. But, if I went there to watch a game, the food would be a huge extra, as it was solid all around.

The Midday Mafia endorses Beef 'O' Brady's for a fun atmosphere, a family setting, great food and a courteous and attentive staff. Feel free to give them a try and tell them the Midday Mafia sent you. Until next time, fuhget about it.
