The family of a missing Goliad man has been told the chances of finding him alive are unlikely.

Mitchell Dale Stehling, 51, was last seen June 9 in Mesa Verde Park in Colorado.

"I don't believe any of us can fully accept that until they find him and we know for sure," daughter-in-law Melissa Stehling said. "It's very devastating for us all."

Stehling was traveling with his wife and parents when they stopped to visit the park in southwest Colorado.

"We just have to find a way to cope," Melissa Stehling said. "It's just hard to take when there are so many unanswered questions."

Mesa Verde National Park released a statement Friday night that the search for Mitchell Stehling would be limited because of a lack of new information.

Stehling was last seen hiking toward Spruce Tree House.
