What goes better with merlot than Monet?

At Sip and Paint, hosted by the Texana Center for the Arts in Edna, patrons of the arts can have both.

Center of the Arts' Sally Pryor is organizing the bring-your-own-adult-beverage painting event from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, when attendees will have the chance to sip their favorite cocktails while painting a variation of one of Claude Monet's "Water Lilies."

The class is open to painters of all levels of experience.

Pryor said adding wine to painting helps people relax and explore their creativity.

Sip and Paint is $35 and includes a canvas, acrylic paint and other needed painting materials.

Light appetizers will be served.

A maximum of 35 painters can register for Sip and Paint. Pryor encourages preregistration by noon Thursday.
