Courtney Rhoads and Travis Alkek, both of Houston, were married at 6 p.m. on July 27, 2013, at Heights Villa in Houston. Reverend Ryan Hodges of Waco officiated the double-ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Randy and Kimber Rhoads of London, England. She is the granddaughter of Dr. J.C. and Dr. Charlotte Whitaker of Midland, and Allen and Edna Rhoads of Breckenridge.

The groom is the son of Sandy and the late Lance Alkek of Victoria. He is the grandson of Lester and Mary Ann Hoerig of Victoria, and the late Franklin and Jeri Alkek of Victoria.

Alicia Knott of Houston attended as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Bianca Rodriguez of Houston, Ashley Otto of Houston, Stephanie Sykes of Houston, Morgan Alkek of San Marcos, sister of the groom, Caroline Rhoads of St. Andrews, Scotland, sister of the bride, Sarah Lindsay of Houston, and Marilyn Greene of New Braunfels.

Roman Fanelli of Victoria and Allen Hundley of Houston both served as best man. Groomsmen were Sean Lundgren of Houston, Thomas Bullard of Houston, Matt Page of Victoria, Jay Meitzen of Victoria, Parker Nicholson of Houston, and Kyle Szymaszek of Houston. Dylan Ochoa of Victoria, nephew of the groom, and Connor Smith of Katy, cousin of the bride, served as ring bearer.

Ushers were Grant Walker of Houston, Chris Nevling of Houston, Gene Tenney of Houston, and Cameron Rhoads of Austin, brother of the bride.

A reception was held following the ceremony at Heights Villa in Houston. The couple spent their honeymoon in Costa Rica enjoying the beaches and rainforests. They will reside in Houston.

The bride is currently teaching fourth grade in Fort Bend ISD in Houston. She is a 2005 graduate from Cinco Ranch High School in Katy and a 2009 graduate from Texas State University with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary studies. Her hobbies include traveling, shopping and making crafts.

The groom is currently employed by Halliburton Energy Services in Houston working in Business Development. He is a 2001 graduate from Memorial High School in Victoria, a 2006 graduate from Texas State University in San Marcos with Business Management, and a 2011 graduate from the University of Houston-Victoria with a Masters in Business Administration. His hobbies include working on the family ranch, "Rockin' A Ranch", in Yorktown and watching the Houston Texans play.
