The Victoria Generals have added Jace Reese to its roster after Alex Klonowski left the team earlier in the week due to personal reasons.
Reese just completed his freshman season at Cisco College where he hit .272 to go along with a team-high five home runs, seven doubles, two triples, 24 RBI, 25 runs scored and 15 walks.
The native of Forney joins a Generals team (13-9) that is in second place in the Texas Collegiate League standings and is looking to clinch a spot in the post season.
The Brazos Valley Bombers (19-3) secured the first half championship and will hold the top overall seed in August. The Bombers clinched the spot with a 7-1 victory over the Generals on Sunday night. The top two teams from the first half of the season, which is the first 30 games of the season, automatically clinch a spot in the playoffs.
Should the Generals take the second spot, they will host the opening round game on Aug. 10, but there are still eight games left for Victoria to play before the first half of the season ends on July 3.
