Jaguars lose shootout to DeSales 15-13

SEGUIN - UHV scored at least one run in all but the fifth inning but still couldn't pull out the win over DeSales University Sunday, losing 15-13.

The Jaguars outhit DeSales 20-14, but a six-run bottom of the seventh inning put DeSales ahead 15-10. UHV scored twice in the eighth and once in the ninth but couldn't pull off the late-game comeback.

Short stop Dylan Blaha led UHV at the plate with three hits in five at-bats, with one RBI. Ryan Suescun and Chad Kruse each had three RBI for the Jaguars. Brandon Bohanon recorded the lone home run, a solo homer, for the Jaguars.

The Jaguars used five pitchers against DeSales. Chance Marshall (1-1) took the loss for UHV. Brayden Blanton got the start, but lasted only one inning, giving up five earned runs on three hits with three walks.
