Wildflower workshop planned in Sinton

The annual wildflower workshop will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 22 at the Welder Wildlife Foundation, 10620 U.S. Highway 77, near Sinton.

Lynn Drawe, former director of the Welder Wildlife Foundation and well-known range plant ecologist, will lead workshop participants through an introduction to wildflowers and native plants. He will also teach the steps for identifying plants using a key in the field.

Drawe's program will include classroom instruction and activities in the field.

The workshop is limited to 25 participants, and preregistration is required by Monday.

To register for the workshop, send your name, address, email, phone number and $30 registration fee to Wildflower Workshop, Welder Wildlife Foundation, P.O. Box 1400, Sinton, Texas 78387.

The registration fee includes participation in the workshop, lunch, materials, a plant press and transportation during the field activities on the refuge.
