To market to market to buy a fat pig?
No, the livestock show is over. But you haven't missed your opportunity to go to the market. Market Days 2013 are starting soon, and we have added some new twists.
Join us Saturday on DeLeon Plaza for some great shopping, great food and live music.
Market Days will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Enjoy entertainment by April Hall from 1 to 4 p.m.
Visit some of your favorite returning vendors and meet some new ones.
In April, Market Days will be jazzed up with JAMfest. Shop Market Days from noon to 7 p.m. April 20 on DeLeon Plaza.
Come prepared to shop the arts and crafts vendors while enjoying food and music and activities of JAMfest.
May Market Days will be rolling right along with the Art Car Parade. The May 18 Market Days will take place on DeLeon Plaza from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Art Cars will roll right on by the square at 11:30 a.m. and end their journey at the Nave Museum. Some of the streets downtown will be blocked to traffic before the parade and opened up after the parade has concluded. The route of the parade will be Main Street to Church Street back up Bridge Street and Commercial Street over to the Nave Museum.
Come downtown early to shop, eat and grab a great seat for the parade. Stay into the afternoon and enjoy live entertainment on DeLeon Plaza.
Market Days will not continue through the hot summer months. This year, we will let our vendors take a break from the heat and return for Bootfest in October. Bootfest will fill downtown on Oct. 4 and 5 with music, shopping, food and activities.
November Market Days will be in DeLeon Plaza from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 16.
We aren't yet sure what fun entertainment or activities that day might include, so stay tuned for more information.
December Market Days will include Christmas on the Square activities. It won't be too late for last-minute Christmas shopping. We guarantee fun, family-friendly Christmas entertainment and activities.
We hope these changes make Market Days enjoyable for both our visitors and our vendors. If you are or know of an arts/crafts/food vendor who might bring something special to our Market Days, contact the Victoria Parks and Recreation office at 361-485-3200.
Market Days vendors can register for sequential booth spaces or by individual months. There will be no registration on site. There are some policies that apply to when a vendor can register, and that information can be found on our website at victoriatx.org.
