UHV softball struggles in Gulf Coast

ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - UHV softball fell to 0-4 at the Gulf Coast Invitational with a pair of losses to No. 15 Lindsey Wilson 4-2 and Columbia College 6-2. The pair of losses extended the Jaguars (3-14) streak of losses to 11.

UHV recorded just five hits against Lindsey Wilson (14-1) but held strong defensively as the Jaguars held Lindsey Wilson scoreless until the fifth inning.

UHV matched Lindsey Wilson with a run in the fifth and sixth innings, but couldn't keep up when Lindsey Wilson plated a pair of runs in the top of the seventh.

Ashley Winegeart led UHV at the plate, going 2 for 3 with an RBI, two hits and a strikeout.

Later in the day, the Jaguars recorded their 14th loss of the season when Columbia College defeated UHV 6-2.
