St. Mary's Altar Society holds meeting

St. Mary's Altar Society met March 11 at the Activity Center, 401 S. Liberty St. The president, Al Bomba, called the meeting to order with 33 members present. Rev. Patrick Knippenburg led the invocation.
The society is accepting memorials in honor or in memory of loved ones for the purchase of Easter flowers. Call Janell Kruppa at 361-575-8166 or Georgia West at 361-935-6701.
The Agape meal will be held after the March 28 6 p.m. Holy Thursday Mass. All are invited. Bring a covered dish.
Dorothy Bomba, social chairwoman, thanked Margaret Clegg, Pat Babb, Geraldine Jurica and Al Bomba for serving as hostesses for the February Coffee and Donut Social. The next social will be April 21.
The bulletin ad purchased by the society will start appearing in the bulletin in May. It is a four-line ad.
Small holy water containers have been purchased as Easter gifts for the shut-ins.
The Card Party hosted by the St. Mary's Altar Society will be held April 23 beginning at 11:30 a.m. Call Ann Carver at 361-575-2050 or Martha Hamel at 361-575-1932 for reservations. Lunch will be served, and there will be a raffle and door prizes.
Altar Care for April will be Connie Johnson and Karen Allums.
Hostesses were Clara Berknam, Nikki Halepaska, Marlene Polka and Pat Moscatelli.
The door prize was won by Mary Ann Vivion. Rev. Knippenburg gave the benediction, and we adjourned for a social hour.
