Victoria East's Xavier Ellis just raised his arms and shrugged.

Isaac Cardona had just made a move and gone around him for a layup and there wasn't much Ellis could do to stop him.

Ellis had a lot of company. The Calhoun senior did the same to almost anybody who got in his way during the fifth annual Victoria College Area All-Star Basketball Game on Monday night at the District Events Center.

Cardona scored 24 points and was named the White team's MVP in their 100-66 victory.

"I was just doing my thing," Cardona said. "I was just trying to play the game."

Cardona also won the dunk contest at halftime, and he did it with a cut under his right eye that he got when he was guarding Ellis.

Cardona, who has committed to Lubbock Christian, entertained the crowd by scoring from inside and outside. He even made a 3-pointer before halftime.

"You just got to have fun with it," Cardona said. "You know all the players so you just play and have fun."

NOTES • Victoria East's Christian Herring added 21 points for the White team.

• Victoria West's James Murphy scored 23 points and was named the MVP of the Maroon team.

• El Campo's Timothy Pflughaupt converted 11 shots to win the 3-point contest.
