Wharton girls relay team finishes fourth at Texas Relays

AUSTIN - The Wharton girls claimed a pair of fourth-place finishes at the 86th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Saturday at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

The Lady Tigers were fourth in the Division I 800-meter relay, and fourth in the Division I 1,600-meter relay.

The team of Khadijah Martin, Brailyn Frances, Shawnese Felton and Myavia Armstrong had a time of 1 minute, 42.70 seconds in the 800 relay.

Armstrong, Carnecia Scott, Felton and Acacia Watson had a time of 4:01.03 in the 1,600 relay.

Armstrong also finished sixth in the 100-meter dash in a time of 12.34 seconds.

Yoakum's Lexi Williams cleared 10 feet, 10 inches to finish 11th in the girls Division I pole vault.

Wharton's Ramon Frazier finished 13th and Van Vleck's Kalvin Singletary was 24th in the boys Division I shot put.

Frazier had a throw of 51 feet, 6.5 inches, and Singletary had a heave of 47-10.25.

Yorktown's Vicki Niemeier finished 18th in the girls Division I shot put with a throw of 37-8.75.
