If you're hungering for breadsticks, pasta and all the delicious things that come to mind when you think of Italy, Olive Garden has been voted the best place to satisfy that craving. Advocate readers voted the Italian restaurant No. 1 in the 2013 Best of the Best competition.
"It's not just about our food, it's about the atmosphere," manager DeAnna Young said. "We give great entrees and great service, and we bring a little piece of Italy here."
The restaurant employees strive to offer their customers the best while also making them feel at home, Young said.
"When you walk in, you see the atmosphere and you see Italy, but it also feels like home," she said.
Young said she and the other employees are thrilled to have their work acknowledged by the community by being voted best Italian restaurant.
"It's not about being the best," she said. "We're just doing what we do. It's an honor because it means people recognize both the restaurant itself and the people that are in it."
