Dessert is the best part of any meal, and Victoria Advocate readers love the desserts at Halepaska's Bakery.
"We've won for a number of years now," owner Tom Halepaska said. "We always hope people like what we do."
The baker said the key to the bakery's success is giving the customers what they want.
"A lot of it has to do with being responsive to the customer," he said.
Halepaska's offers a variety of sweets ranging from cakes to pies to cookies.
"My favorites are the buffalo chip cookies; the eclairs are great, oh and the coconut pie," he shared. "And if you take a piece of the Coke cake and pop it in the microwave and add the scoop of ice cream, that's the best."
The business is 55 years old, and the patrons have made their vote heard several years in a row.
"We appreciate the year of support and promise to do the best we can for our customers," he said.
