With so much stuff hiding under one roof at Prasek's Hillje Smokehouse, it's always hard to find the right thing to satisfy a craving when it hits. But the readers have voted, and this year, Prasek's was voted No. 1 for kolaches.

Last year, Prasek's was voted first runner-up.

Duane Korenek, a manager at Prasek's, said the bakery sells 10 different types of kolaches at any one time.

"If I had to go over there and pick one right now, I'd probably pick a cream cheese one, but I like them all," he said.

Korenek said the bakery gets started early in the morning using the same recipes as it did when it started.

"It's an old family, hometown recipe that we use, and a lot of people like it," he said. "We appreciate all the years of patronage, and we look forward to all the future relationships."
