The quaint, early Texas vernacular-style home in the heart of Downtown Victoria is celebrating its 15th year in business as well as a best of the best win, owner James Wearden said.

"I believe that we consistently provide value to the traveling public," Wearden said of how guests typically travel two to three hours to sleep in the four suites it boasts. "The colors and furnishings of the rooms they feel like are beautifully appointed."

The house was built in 1875. It was relocated from Forrest and Moody streets to its current location and requires a lot of upkeep. Wearden said he strives to emulate the efforts of its first inn keeper, his father A.R. Dick Wearden, especially when it comes to the backyard's landscaping, which receives a lot of compliments.

"That doesn't happen by magic," Wearden said, smiling.
