Midday Mafia: Club at Colony Creek offers comfortable dining scene

Editor's note: The Midday Mafia is made up of five locals who wish to remain anonymous at the moment. Names have been changed to protect the guilty and are as follows: The Don, Two Taps, Walnuts, Jack the Knife and Jimmy Three Cheese. The Midday Mafia will run every other Thursday in Get Out.

The Midday Mafia strolled into The Club at Colony Creek for lunch last week. The renovated decor was lovely, and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We felt very proper but not stuffy. Our tuxedos actually showed us to be a little overdressed, as the club is casual.

The staff was attentive and courteous. The iced tea was, uh, iced. The room was a little cold, but the place is truly beautiful and was spotless. As larger men, we appreciate a cold room over a hot one. Now that I think about it, Two Taps did sport his Sponge Bob Snuggie to battle the temperature.

I had a wonderful salad with blackened shrimp that was splendid and flavorful. Fresh greens, firm tomatoes and the tasty seafood made it a winner.

Jack the Knife ordered, wait for it, a hamburger. It came with those cool, little fried onions - not really onion rings but crispy, warm pieces of battered and fried onion that are great.

Walnuts and Two Taps also opted for the burger, and it got really quiet on their end of the table. It's worth noting they had American, Swiss and pepper jack cheese, and each was highly satisfying.

Jimmy Three Cheese ordered the chicken sandwich and was happy, too.

The key points here are that Colony Creek is open to the public, is light and airy, has a great staff and a great product. You should try it and see how it fits into your lunch rotation.

The boys would like to add a shout out to the good folks of Boston for showing us all what is great about America - people rushing toward the wounded instead of fleeing to safety.

The national anthem at the Bruins' hockey game was the best I can recall as the entire crowd joined in, loudly. God bless America.
