Swim team presents partnership concept

May 3, 2013 at 12:03 a.m.

The Coastal Bend AllStars USA Swim Team from Corpus Christi will present a partnership concept with the community of Victoria to develop a local USA Swim Team. The community meeting will be from 1 to 3 p.m. May 11 at the Renegade Church, 3706 N. Navarro St., in the old Incredible Pizza building.

By designing an active network with experienced USA coaches and administration in Corpus Christi, the CBA could provide quick, accurate and reliable data for area Victoria coaches and families to run swim practices and meets. Swimmers of all ages would benefit from this program approach. The key factors of the program are endurance, technique, strength and conditioning, all of which are important in improving performance and preventing swim injuries. CBA's partnership with Victoria will bring together two driving forces in the swimming world - high school swimming and USA swimming.

In addition to these benefits, CBA will present how USA Swimming Team could affect Victoria and the revenues they can gain from high-end swim meets.

The Coastal Bend AllStars head coach, Bill Barton, club administrators, meet chairman and a high school parent representative will be available for questions at this meeting.
