Port Lavaca's eighth annual Cruise Fest is taking on a different group of riders this year - cars.
"We all cruise, so we thought we'd include them," said Ted Allred, president of the Cruisers motorcycle club in Port Lavaca.
The car show is a way for the group to expand its reach, he said and give more help to Calhoun County families who need assistance with everyday things.
Cruise Fest will host a fun run Saturday and a show with both motorcycles and cars.
No amateur to the car show party, Jennifer Heibel plans to show up with her Versailles green '58 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan. It's been reupholstered with faux-leopard-skin seats and complete with whitewall tires. And affixed on the corner of the windshield is the Victors Car Club sticker - a newly formed club in Victoria that has about 12 club members.
"We're a very family-oriented club," Heibel, 37, said. "We've got about four women who have their own cars, too."
Marcell Bailey, secretary/treasurer of the Victors Car Club, will be showing off her cloud white and desert rose '56 Chrysler Imperial at Cruise Fest along with about eight other cars from the group. The car club was started because she wanted to include more people, she said.
"We all go as a car club to shows," she said. "We do it because it's family fun."
Bailey said the club has traveled to shows in Texas and towed the cars all the way to Las Vegas to show off their handiwork.
As for her first time at Cruise Fest, she's not sure what to expect for the show.
"It's right near the water, so that'll be a neat place to show the cars," she said.
